New state law effective January 1st 2014; all employees are required to fill out new NC4 form. According to NC state law any employee not submitting it by the first payroll run in 2014 will automatically be switched to single & zero. The reason for the form….. They are doing away with personal exemptions, where you can longer claim yourself, spouse or children on your tax return but you claim them on your NC4. The state rate is supposed to be reduced by 3% due to this change. Guess we shall see.
